On the 19th day of April 2023 some selected students and staff of St. Marcellin Champagnat School embarked on a trip to the missionaries of charity house, at Pankrono. It is a Catholic Institution for the support of the disabled and the less privileged in society run by the Missionaries of Charity a religious body founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta (Saint).          

Our mission there was to express our benevolence to the vulnerable of the society as Jesus said in Matthew 25:40 “Whatsoever you do unto these little ones you do unto me”, we therefore went to their aid in accordance with the will of Christ.

This charity work was made possible by the love and care of the students. Special offerings were taken on Fridays after the ‘Stations of the cross’. Other students also brought things at items like clothes, socks, biscuits, soaps, and others to support. All these were done in the season of Lent which involved Prayers, Fasting and Almsgiving. Words cannot express how elated they were to receive the donations. We were also very excited to see them and spend some time with them. The whole event ended with a prayer and our bus began its return journey to the school.
